SAN DIONISIO ASSESSED FOR LOCAL NUTRITION PROGRESS

The Provincial Nutrition Evaluation Team (PNET) concluded its evaluation series in the municipality of San Dionisio as part of the assessment of local government units' implementation of nutrition programs for Calendar Year 2025.

The Monitoring and Evaluation of Local Level Plan Implementation Protocol (MELLPI Pro) is a tool designed to guide LGUs in measuring their performance while helping them identify critical gaps and opportunities to improve local nutrition services.

The evaluation strictly measures LGU performance in six dimensions:

* Vision and mission, governance, nutrition polices,  governance, local nutrition committee management, nutrition services (60%); and
* Change in nutritional status (40%)

Dr. Regine Viel Manderico, Municipal Health Officer and designated Municipal Nutrition Action Officer, expressed her gratitude to the Provincial Nutrition Evaluation Team for their technical guidance in elevating the town’s nutrition initiatives.

Addressing the Barangay Nutrition Scholars (BNS) in attendance, Dr. Manderico enjoined them to embrace their role as the bridge between healthcare and the community.

“We are here to be changemakers, to make sure that every child has access to nutritious food. This evaluation is a big step for us and together with you, we will achieve the outcome that we desire,” Dr. Manderico said.

The PNET has assessed a total of 15 municipalities across the province namely New Lucena, Balasan, Guimbal, Badiangan, Cabatuan, Leon, Maasin, Ajuy, Passi, Tigbauan, Carles, Tubungan, Batad, San Miguel, and San Dionisio.
